KAMALACHAMELEON

Kamala Harris changes her colors to lure in voters
chameleon-7357365_edited_edited.png
At the 11th hour, Kamala Harris is shamefully changing her colors with the hope of appearing ‘moderate', knowing voters have little time to uncover the truth about her radical, and dangerously out of touch past.
"A big part of the Harris plan is to unapologetically change some of her more liberal positions...when she was running for president in 2019, she was against fracking, for decriminalizing illegal border crossings, and for single-payer health care (Medicare for All)."

A big and fair question is: What does Harris really believe?”

ON THE ECONOMY

Harris Then:

  • Harris has unabashedly supported "Bidenomics", a failed economic policy that has led to crippling inflation, making a home purchase unattainable for many, and forcing American families to choose between basic necessities like groceries and gas.

  • Harris has vowed to get rid of the Trump tax cuts, saying “Get rid of the whole thing”
Harris Now:
  • Now, Harris is attempting to distance “herself from a Biden presidency dented by memories of soaring inflation, and voters’ perceptions that conditions are getting worse,” – Politico, 8/16/24

  • In August, Kamala Harris announced her own “No Tax on Tips” policy, after seeing voters in the service industry approve of Trump’s proposal that was announced several months earlier.

“Her bet: whatever she says in the small, three-month window of her snap campaign will be what sticks. Harris knows most people know little about her... So she believes she can define herself, even if it includes flip-flops and co-opts.”

ON IMMIGRATION

image (3).png
Harris Then:

  • Biden tapped Kamala Harris as his “Border Czar”, making her responsible for securing our border and stopping illegal crossings. Instead, she opened our borders up, allowing a historic 10 million + illegal immigrants to cross our border under her watch.

  • In 2018, Harris suggested we should abolish ICE
(Immigration & Customs Enforcement), the organization most
responsible for curbing illegal immigration. She's also compared
ICE to the Ku Klux Klan.

  • In 2019, Harris supported a repeal of the criminal statute for
entering the country without permission, meaning, it would
no longer be considered a crime to enter the country illegally.

  • As a presidential candidate, Kamala supported protecting sanctuary cities, which allow for illegal immigrants to thrive without fear of persecution from the rule of law and benefit from our tax dollars.

  • She previously criticized President Obama for deporting illegals, in a 2019 speech.
Harris Now:
  • Now, Harris and her allies are attempting to paint her as  “tough” on border issues, highlighting a misleading record that leaves out the majority of votes and rhetoric surrounding her anti-wall, anti-deportation positions.

“... it's not always clear what core, unbendable beliefs animate her. No doubt, she was a liberal in the Senate and during her failed 2019 presidential campaign.”

ON DEFUNDING THE POLICE

chameleon-3837131_1920.jpg
image.png
Harris Then:

  • In June 2020, Harris said the "Defund The Police" movement "rightly" questioned the size of police budgets.

  • In response to the 2020 riots that resulted in millions of dollars in damages to American cities and towns, Kamala Harris helped raise money to bail the perpetrators of those crimes out of jail.

  • Her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, refused to deploy the national guard  in a timely manner during the 2020 riots, allowing Minneapolis to burn and looters to take over the city.
Harris Now:
  • Now, Harris’ campaign is calling her ‘tough’ on criminals and ‘smart’ on crime; attempting to cherry pick a dubious prosecutorial record that goes back nearly
    twenty years.

...it’s a lot of mind-changing for the public to absorb without further explanation. Without hearing Ms. Harris articulate her thought process, she runs the risk of leaving voters to wonder whether
she is just shifting with the political winds, or, indeed, planning to revert to previous positions after she’s won the presidency.

ON ISRAEL - HAMAS

chameleon-3051481_edited.jpg
Harris Then:

  • In October 2023, Harris expressed support
for Israel in its fight against Hamas.

  • She has stood alongside Joe Biden and
toed the Administration’s line in favor of
arming Israel and allowing it to wage war against the Palestinians.
Harris Now:
  • But as her party’s support moved away from Israel, in favor of Hamas, Harris has expressed an openness to curb Israel’s access to the weapons it needs to fight terrorism.

silhouette-971330.png
“Both critics and supporters of Israel are reading her running-mate choice of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as a sign that her policy might be somewhat tougher on Israel and more sympathetic to the Palestinians than Mr. Biden’s has been...
...She needs to tell us: Are they misreading it?”
- Washington Post Editorial Board, 8/11/24

ON MEDICARE FOR ALL

Harris Then:

  • In 2019, Harris called to eliminate private health insurance in favor of a single-payer system. “We need to have Medicare for all!”, she told a CNN townhall.

  • Harris’ past support for eliminating Americans’ access to private insurers would mean a government run, government owed system resulting in higher taxes, and less efficiency.
Harris Now:
  • Now, her campaign says she will not push “Medicare-for-all” despite her previous, outspoken support only four years prior.

It’s tempting for Ms. Harris, as it would be for anyone in her position, to stay as vague on the issues as possible, for as long as possible, to avoid giving fodder to the opposition or dividing her supporters.

ON ENERGY

Harris Then:

  • In 2019, Harris said “There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking.”

  • In 2019, Harris co-sponsored the Green New Deal, which would severely restrict American energy independence and raise energy costs for those least able to afford it.
Harris Now:
  • Now, “Vice President Harris has reversed her position on fracking, signaling a move to the center on the issue. The rightward shift comes as she tries to court swing voters in states like Pennsylvania.” – The Hill 8/1/24
silhouette-971330.png
silhouette-971330.png
silhouette-971330.png
“...Ms. Harris needs to present her ideas. The media and public have legitimate questions, and she should face them.
